The 2024 Riesling trocken from Weingut Alexander Schregel is a finely tuned Rheingau white that captures the region’s classic mineral drive in a fresh, modern style. Tasting Notes
Bright and youthful in the glass, this Riesling shows a pale straw color with lively clarity. The nose opens with lime, green apple, and fresh herbs, lifted by a cool, stony impression that hints at its steep-slope origins. On the palate, it is taut and refreshing, with vibrant acidity, salty minerality, and a clean, precise finish that lingers with citrus zest and wet stone. While already very approachable, its structure suggests it can develop additional complexity over the next few years, gaining depth while keeping its fresh energy.

Production
The grapes come from steep Rheingau vineyards with slate, loess, and quartzite soils, a mix that contributes both tension and mineral precision. They were selectively harvested by hand, then spontaneously fermented and matured in oak casks with extended lees contact. The wine was bottled unfiltered, with minimal sulfur and no fining, preserving the purity and natural expression of the site.

Food & Serving
This dry Riesling is an excellent match for fish, seafood, poultry, and lighter dishes, especially those with fresh herbs or citrus accents. It also works beautifully with Asian cuisine and subtly spicy flavors. Serve chilled at 8–10 °C; decanting is not necessary, though a short time in the glass will help it open up.
