Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Riesling shows a bright, clear profile with youthful freshness and finesse. The nose is precise and layered, offering citrus, green apple, and white peach, lifted by smoky slate, herbal nuances, and a distinct stony mineral edge. On the palate, it is taut, energetic, and deeply structured, with vibrant acidity and a saline, chalky-mineral thread running through the wine. Production
The wine comes from the Lorcher Pfaffenwies, one of the Rheingau’s coolest and most mineral sites, where steep vineyards above the Rhine are marked by slate, quartzite, and phyllite soils. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested and gently pressed, then fermented spontaneously with native yeasts to preserve the vineyard’s authentic character. Aging takes place mainly in large traditional oak casks, which adds texture and structure without masking the wine’s freshness and mineral precision.

This Riesling is an excellent match for seafood, fine white fish, and Asian-inspired dishes, as well as poultry, veal, or herb-driven vegetarian plates. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and consider decanting briefly if you want to open up its aromatic detail, especially in its youth.
