Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a light golden hue. The nose opens with ripe pear, yellow apple, and a subtle almond note, rounded out by gentle herbal spice. On the palate, it is juicy and well structured, with moderate acidity, a creamy texture, and a touch of minerality. The finish is harmonious and balanced, with enough depth to suggest it will develop nicely over the next few years, while still offering plenty of immediate charm now.

Production
The Herrenstück vineyard is located in southern Baden on the Kaiserstuhl, where volcanic weathered soils with a covering of loess lend the wine structure, spice, and finesse. The grapes were selectively harvested by hand, gently pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Part of the wine was matured in large wooden casks and part in stainless steel, with several months on the fine lees to build texture and depth.

A versatile food wine, this Grauburgunder pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, veal, pasta in cream-based sauces, mushroom risotto, or mildly aged hard cheeses. Serve chilled at 10–12°C. Decanting is not necessary, though a short period in the glass will help the aromas open up.
