Tasting Notes

The nose unfolds with citrus, quince, and white peach, lifted by cool slate spice and a subtle stony edge. On the palate, the wine is taut, precise, and elegant, combining clear fruit with a saline mineral core and vibrant acidity. The finish is long and tension-filled, suggesting excellent potential to age gracefully over the next several years, where it will gain depth and complexity while retaining its Riesling clarity.

Production
Terra Montosa is sourced from steep Rheingau vineyard parcels including Berg Schlossberg, Berg Rottland, Berg Roseneck, Nonnenberg, and Lorcher Pfaffenwies, where slate and quartzite soils shape the wine’s mineral character and structure. The grapes are carefully selected and farmed with a natural approach, then spontaneously fermented in large oak casks and matured on the lees for an extended period to build texture, balance, and depth.

Food & Serving
This Riesling pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish, and poultry in light cream or butter sauces, and also works well with Asian-inspired dishes where freshness and minerality can shine. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and while decanting is not necessary, a short aeration can help open the wine in its youth.
