Tasting Notes
Pale and luminous in the glass, this Riesling opens with a fragrant mix of yellow plum, white peach, and orange blossom, lifted by hints of lavender, sage, and gentle spice. On the palate it feels light and almost weightless, yet impressively expressive, with juicy stone fruit, mandarin zest, and subtle exotic notes unfolding over a line of bright acidity and salty freshness. The balance between delicate sweetness, vivid tension, and fine texture gives the wine a long, refreshing finish. While already highly enjoyable for its youthful fruit and energy, it also has the structure to evolve gracefully over the medium term, gaining more depth and nuance with a few years of cellaring.

Production
The grapes come from Schloss Johannisberg’s south-facing vineyards in the Rheingau, grown on a quartzite hill with loess and clay soils that help shape the wine’s aromatic clarity and mineral drive. The estate’s location near the 50th parallel brings marked day-night temperature shifts, supporting precise ripening and fresh, focused fruit expression. Harvested by hand, the grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed, fermented in stainless steel, and then matured for six months on fine lees in a large 1,200-liter wooden cask to build texture and complexity.

This Kabinett is a versatile partner at the table, especially with lightly spicy Asian dishes, creamy and aromatic cheeses such as Münster or Taleggio, or fruit-led desserts. It also works beautifully as an aperitif. Serve chilled at 8–10 °C; decanting is not necessary.
