Description

The 2023 Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir offers an elegant introduction to Burgundy’s most celebrated red grape. Combining the finesse of Pinot Noir with Faiveley’s long-standing expertise, it is a versatile and approachable Burgundy with classic regional character.

Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in colour, this wine opens with inviting aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, complemented by subtle floral and earthy nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and silky, with delicate red-fruit flavours, fine tannins and a lively finish that reflects Pinot Noir’s natural elegance. Enjoyable in its youth for its freshness and fruit-driven style, it may develop additional savoury and earthy complexity over the next few years when carefully stored.

Production
Produced from Pinot Noir grown within the Burgundy appellation, this wine reflects the region’s temperate climate and limestone- and clay-influenced soils. The grapes are vinified with the aim of preserving their delicate fruit character and refined texture, resulting in a balanced Bourgogne Rouge that expresses the accessible side of Burgundy.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool, at around 14–16°C. It is a natural partner for roast chicken, duck, pork tenderloin, charcuterie, mushroom dishes and soft, mildly flavoured cheeses. Decanting is not essential, although a brief 20–30 minutes of aeration can help open the wine if enjoyed soon after opening.

Producer
Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s historic family-owned domaines and a respected name in the Côte de Nuits. The estate is known for its broad vineyard holdings, careful attention to terroir and traditional Burgundian identity, producing wines that range from accessible regional bottlings to highly sought-after Premier and Grand Cru wines.
