Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, it opens with a cool, mineral-driven nose of lime, citrus zest, green apple and subtle herbal spice. On the palate it is taut, focused and linear, with bright acidity, crystalline fruit and a distinctly saline, chalky edge that gives the wine its tension and energy. The finish is long, dry and firmly mineral, leaving a precise, refreshing impression. Thanks to its structure and balance, this Riesling has excellent ageing potential and should gain even more complexity over the next several years.

Production
„Auf dem Kalkofen“ is a limestone-rich site in Rheinhessen, with massive calcareous rock and marl lending the wine its saline mineral character, freshness and depth. The grapes were harvested by strict selective hand-picking, then spontaneously fermented with native yeasts. Aging took place in large oak casks and stainless steel, combining structure and texture with a pure expression of terroir.

Food & Serving
This Riesling is a natural match for seafood, grilled fish, poultry and shellfish, and it also works beautifully with goat’s cheese or modern dishes built around fresh herbs and vegetables. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary, though a short aeration can help it open up in its youth.
