Tasting Notes
Pale and luminous in the glass, this Kabinett shows the classic lightness and clarity of a great Mosel-Saar Riesling. The nose is refined and cool, with citrus, green apple, white peach, floral lift, and a distinct slate-driven mineral note. On the palate, it is vibrant and feather-light, with racy acidity perfectly balanced by a fine, understated sweetness. The finish is long, saline, and highly nuanced, with the kind of precision and finesse that suggest excellent aging potential over many years.

Production
Scharzhofberg’s poor Devonian slate soils and steep Saar slopes give this wine its signature mineral edge, freshness, and tension. The grapes are vinified in a traditional, minimalist style, with spontaneous fermentation in large Mosel casks and extended lees ageing to preserve purity and site expression.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled, ideally at around 8-10°C. It pairs beautifully with sushi, sashimi, ceviche, spicy Asian dishes, goat cheese, and light herb-driven starters; decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief aeration can help if served very young.
