Production
This Ortswein comes from the cool, steep slopes around Lorch in the Rheingau, where shale and quartzite soils help shape the wine’s tension, fragrance, and mineral precision. The grapes were picked by hand and fermented spontaneously, then matured in large wooden casks on the lees to build structure, complexity, and balance without masking the site’s character.

A natural match for fish, shellfish, and lighter dishes such as salads, asparagus, or delicate poultry preparations. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass will help the wine open beautifully.
