Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a bright, translucent ruby tone that hints at its lifted, precise profile. The bouquet opens with red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and cranberry, followed by rose petal, tea leaf, subtle spice, and a gentle earthy note that becomes more expressive with air. On the palate, it is silky and focused, with vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a cool, mineral-laced fruit core. Hints of orange peel, forest floor, and savory herbs add complexity to the long, poised finish. It already offers plenty of charm, but it also has the balance and structure to develop beautifully over the next 5 to 8 years, possibly longer in a good cellar.

Production
Sourced from the Los Alamos Vineyard in northern Santa Barbara County, the wine benefits from a cool Pacific influence, a long growing season, and limestone-rich soils that encourage slow ripening and expressive, site-specific Pinot Noir. The fruit is hand-harvested and carefully sorted to preserve quality and purity from the start. Vinification is carried out with a restrained, minimal-intervention approach, including native fermentation where possible, followed by ageing in French oak barrels with moderate new oak influence. The goal is to let the vineyard speak clearly, balancing fruit, texture, and minerality without overshadowing the wine’s natural finesse.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is an excellent match for roast duck, veal, quail, and mushroom-based dishes, especially when paired with earthy sauces or herbs. It also works beautifully with grilled salmon, tuna, or soft aged cheeses. Serve slightly cool, around 14–16°C, and decant briefly if serving young to let its aromatics unfold.
