Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Barolo shows the bright, translucent ruby tones typical of Nebbiolo, with an elegant rather than heavy presence. The bouquet is expressive and layered, opening with red cherry, rose petals and violet, then moving into notes of spice, licorice and subtle toasted nuances. On the palate it is silky, structured and very nuanced, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity giving the wine both freshness and length. The finish is long, mineral and gently spicy, and while already attractive in its youth, it has the concentration and balance to develop beautifully over many years.

Production
Gallinotto comes from a single vineyard in La Morra, where calcareous marl soils help shape the wine’s finesse, perfume and supple tannin profile. The grapes are harvested by hand, then fermented under temperature control before aging in large oak casks and partly in barriques for several months, building complexity without masking the character of the site.

Food & Serving
This Barolo is a superb match for beef, game and slow-braised dishes, and it also shines alongside truffle-based recipes or mature cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant beforehand to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to open fully.
