Description

Arthur Metz Crémant d’Alsace Blanc de Noirs Réserve de l’Abbaye Brut is a refined sparkling wine made entirely from Pinot Noir, offering the depth and structure of a red grape with the elegance of classic Alsatian bubbles. It stands out for its Blanc de Noirs style and its connection to Arthur Metz, one of the region’s best-known names in sparkling wine, reflecting the long-standing tradition of Crémant production in Alsace.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright pale gold hue with a lively mousse and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is expressive yet elegant, with aromas that may suggest red berries, citrus zest, orchard fruit, and subtle brioche or almond notes from lees ageing. On the palate, it is crisp and well-balanced, combining freshness with the rounder, more vinous character that Pinot Noir brings to sparkling wine. Expect a dry, precise finish with good tension and a pleasantly savoury edge. As a quality non-vintage Crémant d’Alsace, it is made to be enjoyed while fresh, though it can develop extra complexity over the next few years.

Production
Crémant d’Alsace is one of France’s most respected sparkling-wine appellations, and this Blanc de Noirs is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir grown in Alsace’s cool continental climate and varied limestone and marl soils. These conditions help preserve acidity while allowing the grape to develop ripe fruit character and depth. The wine is produced using traditional-method vinification, with a secondary fermentation in bottle and time on the lees to build texture and finesse.

Food & Serving
This Brut Crémant is a versatile apéritif and pairs especially well with seafood, oysters, smoked salmon, sushi, poultry, and light creamy dishes. It also works beautifully with hard cheeses or charcuterie. Serve well chilled, ideally around 6–8°C, and decanting is not necessary.

Producer
Arthur Metz is a long-established Alsatian producer with a strong reputation for Crémant d’Alsace, combining regional expertise with a focus on quality and consistency. Over the years, the house has become closely associated with expressive sparkling wines that showcase the character of Alsace and the strengths of its traditional grape varieties, particularly in the production of elegant, accessible Crémant.
