Crafted from a precise blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this non-vintage Champagne balances freshness and depth with effortless grace. Presented in a luxurious yet eco-conscious paper case, it’s as thoughtful as it is beautiful, making it a standout choice for gifting or special occasions.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, R de Ruinart Brut shows a bright, pale golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse and delicate streams of tiny bubbles. The nose is pure and inviting, opening with notes of crisp green apple, pear and citrus zest, followed by hints of white flowers, almond, brioche and a light chalky minerality that speaks to its Champagne origins. On the palate, this Champagne is poised and lively, offering a vibrant attack of fresh orchard fruits, lemon curd and subtle stone fruit, wrapped in a creamy texture from extended lees aging. Toasted brioche and hazelnut nuances emerge on the mid-palate, carried by a precise, saline acidity and a long, clean finish. This is a Champagne that drinks beautifully on release but can develop additional complexity over 3–6 years in a cool, dark cellar, gaining richer pastry and nutty notes while retaining its core freshness.
Production
R de Ruinart Brut is sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Champagne region, with a strong emphasis on Chardonnay from cooler, chalk-rich slopes that provide finesse and tension, complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for structure and fruit. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, ensuring only the healthiest, most aromatic berries make it to the press. Vinification follows the traditional Champagne method: gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit, and partial use of reserve wines from previous years to maintain the Ruinart style. The second fermentation takes place in bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for an extended period, developing fine bubbles, delicate autolytic notes and a beautifully integrated mousse before disgorgement and final dosage.
Food & Serving
This refined Brut Champagne is wonderfully versatile at the table. It is ideal as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with delicate seafood such as oysters, scallops, sushi and sashimi, as well as lightly smoked fish, citrus-dressed ceviche and fine charcuterie. It complements soft cheeses like Brie, Camembert or a young goat cheese, and can also shine alongside poultry dishes with creamy sauces or delicate truffle accents. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C (46–50°F) in a generous tulip-shaped flute or white wine glass to allow the aromas to unfold. Decanting is not necessary, but opening the bottle 10–15 minutes before serving and letting it sit in the glass will help the wine express its full aromatic range.
