Tasting Notes
In the glass, Karmis 2024 shows a bright straw-yellow hue with delicate golden highlights, especially expressive in magnum format. The nose is inviting and Mediterranean: ripe yellow stone fruit, pear and citrus zest mingle with notes of wild herbs, almond blossom and a faint saline breeze. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh and finely textured, balancing Vernaccia’s structure with a supple, rounded mouthfeel. Expect flavors of white peach, lemon peel and green apple, layered with hints of bitter almond, chamomile and a touch of sea spray on the finish. The acidity is lively but well integrated, giving the wine a clean, elongated aftertaste. In magnum, this 2024 release will drink beautifully now for its vibrant fruit, but also has the potential to develop additional complexity over the next 3–5 years, gaining more honeyed and nutty nuances with time.

Production
Sourced from vineyards on Sardinia, Karmis reflects a coastal Mediterranean terroir where sea breezes, abundant sunlight and mineral-rich soils contribute to its saline freshness and aromatic lift. The cuvée is centered on Vernaccia, often complemented by other local white varieties to enhance fragrance and balance. Grapes are typically harvested in the cool of early morning to preserve acidity and aromatic purity, then gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to retain freshness and varietal character, with a period of maturation on fine lees to add texture, depth and a subtle creaminess without overshadowing the wine’s natural vibrancy.

Karmis Cuvée Magnum 2024 is a versatile partner for Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. It pairs beautifully with grilled or baked fish, shellfish, octopus, and seafood risotto, as well as swordfish carpaccio, sushi, and delicate vegetable dishes like asparagus risotto or herb-infused pasta. Its slight almond and saline notes also complement poultry, fresh cheeses and antipasti platters. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F). Decanting is not essential, but in magnum format, opening the bottle 20–30 minutes before serving and letting it breathe in the glass will help the wine fully express its aromatic complexity.
