Château Carbonnieux is situated in the heart of Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux, where deep gravel soils mixed with clay and limestone provide excellent drainage and help produce whites of precision, intensity, and mineral character. The vineyards are carefully managed to ensure optimal ripeness and freshness, with selective harvesting—often done in multiple passes—to pick each parcel at peak maturity. In the cellar, the grapes are gently pressed and the must is clarified before fermentation, which typically takes place partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatics and partly in French oak barrels to bring texture and complexity. The wine is then aged on its lees, with regular stirring (bâtonnage) in selected lots, to enhance mouthfeel and integrate the oak, all while keeping the vibrant, linear style that defines Carbonnieux Blanc.
