Crafted by one of Meursault’s most sought‑after domaines, this white Burgundy brings precision, energy and depth that will appeal to both collectors and curious wine lovers. It’s a brilliant way to experience the Boisson style without stepping straight into village and premier cru pricing.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Bourgogne Blanc shows a pale to medium lemon color with a youthful, glinting brightness. The nose is immediately inviting, with notes of ripe lemon, crunchy green apple and white peach, layered over hints of chalk, crushed shell, and a subtle, well‑judged touch of oak—think toasted hazelnut, fresh cream, and a whisper of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is taut and focused, yet surprisingly textural. Lively citrus and orchard fruits are wrapped in a fine, saline minerality that clearly points to its Burgundian origins. There’s impressive tension between fruit richness and mouthwatering acidity, giving the wine both immediate drinkability and structure. The finish is long, pure and savoury, with lingering notes of lemon zest, stone and a faint nuttiness. Enjoy it now for its vibrancy, or cellar it for 3–7 years to allow the texture and complexity to deepen further.
Production
Sourced from Chardonnay vines in and around Meursault and neighboring communes, Pierre Boisson’s Bourgogne Blanc benefits from classic Côte de Beaune terroir: limestone-rich soils with varying clay content that impart both mineral drive and understated power. Harvesting is typically done by hand to ensure careful selection of healthy, ripe grapes, followed by gentle pressing to preserve delicacy and aromatic purity. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is then aged in barrel (with a restrained use of new oak) on fine lees, bringing finesse, texture and subtle complexity while keeping the focus firmly on freshness and terroir expression.
Food & Serving
This Bourgogne Blanc is highly versatile at the table. It shines alongside seafood such as oysters, scallops, and simply grilled fish, and pairs beautifully with roast chicken, veal in light cream sauces, and dishes featuring mushrooms or root vegetables. It also works well with soft cheeses like Brie, Camembert, or young Comté. Serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F) for maximum precision and aromatic lift; if the wine is just opened and quite youthful, a brief 20–30 minutes in a decanter or large glass can help it open up and reveal its full range of aromas.
Producer
The Boisson family, based in Meursault, has quietly become one of the most admired names in contemporary Burgundy. Once known primarily under the Boisson-Vadot label, the domaine’s new generation—led by siblings Pierre and Anne Boisson—has earned a devoted following for wines that are intensely terroir‑driven, precise and classically structured. Working with low yields, careful vineyard husbandry and restrained, thoughtful use of oak, the domaine produces whites that sit comfortably among some of the region’s most sought‑after bottles. Their Bourgogne Blanc is particularly renowned for offering a serious taste of top Meursault craftsmanship at a more accessible level, making it a benchmark wine in its category.
