Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, Northland opens with a clean, inviting nose and soft layers of sweetness from its oak maturation. The palate is mellow and warming, with smooth grain richness, subtle vanilla, and a light woody spice that reflects the quarter cask ageing. Its texture is approachable and well balanced, making it an accessible single malt with enough depth to keep it interesting. Northland is crafted at Wolfburn Distillery in the far north of Scotland, where the slow and careful production approach is central to the whisky’s character. Best enjoyed neat, with a splash of water, or over a large ice cube to open up the softer oak and vanilla notes. It pairs well with smoked salmon, mild cheeses, roasted nuts, or lightly sweet desserts such as shortbread or vanilla cake. Serve at room temperature; decanting is not necessary.
