Dos Maderas 5+5 is a characterful aged rum that brings together select spirits from Barbados and Guyana, then finishes its journey in Jerez under the watchful eye of Williams & Humbert. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep amber to mahogany color with warm copper highlights. The nose opens with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel, toasted wood, and a subtle touch of sherry sweetness, while hints of spice and molasses add extra complexity. On the palate, it is smooth and rounded, with flavors of toffee, raisins, brown sugar, cocoa, and oak-led spice balanced by a gentle Caribbean sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruit, wood polish, and soft sherry character. Thanks to its dual maturation, it has excellent depth and can continue to impress for years in the bottle.

Production
Dos Maderas PX 5+5 is made from carefully selected rums from Barbados and Guyana, two origins known for producing spirits with refined aromatic profiles and expressive sugarcane character. The rum is first aged for at least five years in the Caribbean, where the warm climate helps develop concentration and maturity, before being transferred to Williams & Humbert in Jerez, Spain. There, it undergoes a second maturation period in casks previously used for sherry, which adds layers of dried fruit, nuts, spice, and richness. This dual-aging approach combines tropical maturity with the elegance of Spanish cask finishing, resulting in a rum with great balance and complexity.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a splash of water to open up its more complex aromas. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, caramel desserts, roasted nuts, crème brûlée, and aged cheeses, and also works well as a contemplative after-dinner spirit. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, and decanting is not necessary.
