Weingüter Wegeler’s Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett Fruchtsüss is a finely balanced Mosel white that captures the elegance and charm of one of the region’s most celebrated vineyard sites. Sourced from six prized single vineyards in Bernkastel, including the legendary Bernkasteler Doctor, it combines historical prestige with the pure, expressive character of classic Riesling.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, it opens with lifted aromas of dried mango, candied citrus, ripe stone fruit and a delicate streak of slate-driven minerality. On the palate, the wine is supple and fruit-forward, with a gentle sweetness woven through bright, refreshing acidity, giving it poise, clarity and a long, polished finish. The Mosel’s cool climate and the wine’s natural balance suggest very good aging potential, especially for those who enjoy Kabinett Rieslings with a touch of development. Over time, the fruit is likely to evolve toward more honeyed, petrol-tinged, and deeply mineral nuances while retaining its refreshing core.

Production
Bernkasteler Badstube sits in the heart of the Mosel and is made up of six of Bernkastel’s most renowned parcels, spread across around 50 hectares with west-southwest exposure. The vineyards’ steep slopes and the region’s slate and clay soils provide ideal conditions for Riesling, helping to preserve acidity while building depth, precision and mineral character. The historic Badstube name dates back to the Middle Ages, when warm springs in Bernkastel were used as healing baths, adding another layer of heritage to this iconic site.

Food & Serving
This Fruchtsüss Kabinett pairs beautifully with spicy Asian dishes, light fish preparations, sushi, mildly spiced poultry and creamy soft cheeses. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary; a brief aeration in the glass is more than enough to let the aromas unfold.
