Named after Stephen Hansel’s mother, Alyce, it captures the kind of energy and charm that make this cuvée stand out in the winery’s already highly respected Chardonnay lineup.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful golden hue that hints at its generosity. The nose opens with peach, apricot, citrus, orange marmalade, toasted almonds, and a subtle touch of fresh ginger. The palate is both full-bodied and beautifully lifted, with flavors of lemon curd, pink grapefruit, pineapple, toasted almonds, honey, and freshly baked brioche. Despite its richness, it remains vibrant and elegant, with enough structure and freshness to age gracefully for several years.

Production
This cuvée brings together three different Chardonnay clones for added complexity and balance. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed, and the wine was aged in French oak barrels, which adds texture, subtle spice, and a refined creamy character. Sourced from California vineyards with the region’s warm, sunny ripening conditions, the wine reflects both ripe fruit expression and careful winemaking.

This is a versatile Chardonnay for richer dishes such as roast chicken, lobster with butter sauce, seared scallops, creamy pasta, or dishes with mushroom and truffle accents. Serve it chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider a brief decant if you want to open up its aromatic layers.
