On the palate, Volnay typically shows silky tannins, lifted acidity, and a graceful, almost ethereal texture, balanced here by the concentration and precision for which Comtes Lafon is known. The finish is likely to be long and mineral, with lingering red fruit, earth, and spice. At this stage, it is drinking well now, though well-stored bottles may continue to evolve for a little longer.
