Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido is one of Italy’s most iconic wines, celebrated worldwide for its elegance, precision, and Cabernet-led style. Born in the Bolgheri hills of Tuscany, it helped redefine what Italian fine wine could be and became the first wine in Italy to receive its own dedicated DOC, Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.

Tasting Notes
The 2022 vintage shows remarkable balance between power and finesse. In the glass, it has a deep, polished ruby colour, with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherry, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and a touch of fine spice. The palate is silky and focused, with a refined tannin structure, layered dark fruit, and a long, composed finish. It has the concentration to be enjoyed now, but its structure and freshness suggest excellent ageing potential over many years.

Production
Sassicaia is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown in the legendary vineyards of Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri, where the coastal Tuscan terroir offers warmth, sea influence, and well-drained soils ideal for these Bordeaux varieties. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve freshness and precision, then vinified with a focus on elegance, structure, and purity of fruit.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for premium grilled or roasted red meats, game, lamb, and richly flavoured dishes with herbs or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if drinking young, to allow the wine to खुलen up fully.
