Tasting Notes
The wine shows a vivid, inviting ruby colour in the glass. On the nose, it opens with dark berries, cherry and plum, lifted by subtle spice, a touch of dried herbs and discreet oak in the background. The palate is smooth and harmonious, with ripe tannins, good depth and a fresh, lively finish. Le Difese 2023 is made to be enjoyed young, but it has enough structure and balance to hold well over the next few years.

Production
Le Difese is produced in Bolgheri, where Tenuta San Guido benefits from a terroir shaped by coastal influence, warm days and cooling breezes that help preserve freshness in the fruit. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese is harvested with care and vinified to emphasise purity, balance and drinkability, with oak used discreetly to support rather than dominate the wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent food wine for roasted meats, grilled steak, lamb, tomato-based pasta dishes and Tuscan-style cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 20–30 minutes can help the aromas open up, especially if enjoyed shortly after release.
