Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark color that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe dark cherries, plums, and blackberries joined by blood orange, orange peel, and an earthy, almost mineral undertone. On the palate, this is a dense and focused Brunello with plenty of fruit depth, balanced by freshness and savory complexity. The move away from overt oak allows the vineyard character to come forward clearly, giving the wine a more authentic and composed profile. With its structure and balance, it should age gracefully over the coming years.

Production
The wine comes from Tenuta San Giorgio’s vineyards in Montalcino, where the estate has embraced organic farming to better reflect the character of the land. In the cellar, the approach has shifted toward traditional aging in large, used Slavonian oak casks rather than small new barrels, helping preserve freshness, texture, and the wine’s natural sense of place.

This Brunello is a natural match for rich Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, braised lamb, and mature hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
