Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico 2022 is a refined expression of Sangiovese from one of Chianti Classico’s most striking high-altitude sites. Grown in the hills of Gaiole in Chianti at around 500 meters above sea level, it combines freshness, concentration, and elegance in a style that captures both the landscape and the tradition of the region.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant purple-red color, hinting at its youthful energy and vibrant fruit profile. The nose is expressive and lifted, with intense aromas of ripe red berries, sour cherry, and floral nuances, supported by a subtle earthy edge. On the palate, it is lively and focused, with a firm tannin structure wrapped around juicy fruit and a fine sense of balance. The high-altitude vineyard setting brings freshness and precision, while the amphitheater-shaped terrain contributes warmth and ripeness. It has good aging potential, and should develop added complexity and polish over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards in Gaiole in Chianti, planted at about 500 meters above sea level on south and southwest-facing slopes. The amphitheater-like shape of the vineyard landscape enhances sun exposure and helps retain warmth, while the elevation preserves natural acidity and aromatic brightness. This combination of altitude, exposure, and slope creates ideal conditions for Sangiovese, resulting in wines with intensity, structure, and elegance.

Food & Serving
This Chianti Classico pairs beautifully with Tuscan cuisine, including pasta with ragù, roast chicken, grilled meats, and aged pecorino. It is best served at 16–18°C, and a short decant of around 30 minutes can help open up the aromas, especially in its youth.
