Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic depth and transparency of great Barolo, with a vibrant garnet color that hints at both youth and structure. The nose is layered and refined, unfolding with rose petal, red cherry, wild strawberry, and dried herbs, followed by notes of spice, tobacco, and mineral nuance. On the palate, Carobric is precise and energetic, with concentrated fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long, poised finish. It combines the ripe, fruit-forward character of Scavino’s style with the firm backbone expected from top Nebbiolo, giving it excellent aging potential over the next 10–20 years and beyond.

Production
This wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in three historic Barolo crus: Rocche di Castiglione, Fiasco, and Cannubi, each contributing its own nuance to the final blend. The vineyards are hand-harvested, typically in the second half of October, to ensure optimal ripeness, and the vinification is carried out with the aim of preserving terroir expression, purity, and aromatic precision.

Barolo Carobric 2018 is an ideal match for richly flavored dishes such as braised beef, truffle risotto, game, roast lamb, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours, especially if opening the bottle young, to allow the aromatics and structure to fully open.
