Tenuta Moraia Perpiero 2020 is a powerful yet refined Tuscan red that captures the character and promise of Maremma, one of Italy’s most exciting wine-growing areas. Crafted as a tribute to Pierangelo Piccini, it brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Franc in a style that balances structure, elegance, and regional identity.

Tasting Notes
Perpiero 2020 typically shows a deep ruby core with inviting intensity in the glass. The nose is layered and expressive, with dark berries, ripe plum, Mediterranean herbs, subtle spice, and hints of tobacco and graphite. On the palate, it is full-bodied and polished, combining the freshness and finesse of Sangiovese with the depth of Cabernet Sauvignon and the aromatic lift of Cabernet Franc. The finish is long and balanced, with fine tannins and enough acidity to keep the wine lively and food-friendly. While approachable in its youth, it should also develop gracefully over the next several years, gaining additional complexity and softness with bottle age.

Production
Perpiero is sourced from the finest parcels of Tenuta Moraia’s vineyards in Maremma, Toscana, an area known for its warm climate, coastal influence, and well-suited soils for premium red wine production. The wine has been made exclusively from these select vineyard sections since 2014, reflecting a deliberate focus on quality and site expression. Its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Franc is vinified to preserve ripeness, freshness, and varietal definition.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, roast lamb, game, rich pasta dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C to show its full aromatic range and balance. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if drinking young, to allow the wine to open and soften.
