Description

Suavia Le Rive 2021 is a rich, characterful white wine that showcases Garganega at its most expressive. Crafted from overripe grapes and aged for an extended period, it combines depth and structure with a velvety, almost enveloping texture. This is the kind of wine that can stand up to a generous, flavorful meal yet also feels perfectly at home by the fireplace with a good book.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Le Rive 2021 shows a warm, intense hue – deep straw with golden highlights that already hints at concentration and maturity. The nose opens with ripe stone fruits and preserved lemon, followed by notes of chamomile, honey, toasted almonds and a gentle spice, all wrapped in a subtle mineral frame. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and silky, with a velvety mouthfeel derived from the overripe Garganega and long aging. Flavors of baked pear, yellow plum, citrus peel and acacia honey are layered with hints of hazelnut, herbal tea and wet stone. The richness is balanced by a clean, savory acidity and a persistent, slightly saline finish. While already open and generous now, this vintage has the structure to evolve gracefully for 5–8 years, gaining further complexity and tertiary nuances.

Production
Le Rive comes from selected Garganega vineyards in the hills of Soave in Veneto, where volcanic and limestone-rich soils contribute both intensity and a marked mineral character. The grapes are harvested late, at a very ripe, almost overripe stage, to concentrate flavor and texture while preserving natural acidity. After careful hand selection in the vineyard and in the cellar, the must is slowly fermented and the wine is aged for an extended period, typically on fine lees, to build body, enhance aromatic complexity and create the signature velvety feel that defines Le Rive.

Food & Serving
Suavia Le Rive 2021 is an excellent match for rich seafood dishes such as lobster, scallops, or cod in beurre blanc, as well as roasted poultry, veal in cream-based sauces, mushroom risottos and aged semi-hard cheeses. Serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F) to highlight its aromatic complexity and textural depth. A brief decanting of 20–30 minutes can help the wine open up, especially if served in its youth, allowing the more subtle floral, nutty and mineral notes to emerge fully.

Producer
Suavia is a highly regarded family estate in the heart of the Soave Classico area of Veneto, dedicated almost exclusively to expressing Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave at a premium level. Founded and run by the Tessari family, the winery has played an important role in redefining Soave’s reputation, demonstrating that this historic region can produce serious, age-worthy white wines with real identity and terroir character. Known for precise vineyard work, low yields and meticulous cellar practices, Suavia has consistently earned critical acclaim and is considered one of the benchmark producers of quality Soave today.
