Description
Domaine Vincent Pinard’s Petit Chemarin is a refined expression of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc, drawn from one of the appellation’s most admired chalky sites. The 2023 vintage captures the domaine’s hallmark precision and purity, offering a wine that is both vibrant and mineral-driven, with a classic Loire pedigree.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, this Sancerre shows an elegant, luminous appearance that hints at its freshness. The nose is lifted and expressive, with notes of citrus zest, white flowers, green apple, and a subtle flinty edge that speaks to the vineyard’s chalky soils.
On the palate, the wine is taut and energetic, with a fine balance of crisp acidity, mineral tension, and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc fruit. Expect layers of lemon, gooseberry, pear, and wet stone, finishing long and saline. While immediately attractive for its brightness, Petit Chemarin has the structure to develop additional depth over the next few years.
Production
Petit Chemarin comes from a prized Sancerre vineyard site in the Loire, where chalk-rich soils and a cool continental climate help preserve freshness and drive the wine’s signature mineral character. The grapes are typically harvested with care to preserve aromatic intensity and natural acidity, then vinified with a light hand to emphasize purity, terroir expression, and finesse.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with goat cheese, shellfish, oysters, grilled white fish, and fresh salads with citrus or herbs. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass can help the wine open up.

Domaine Vincent Pinard is one of Sancerre’s most respected family estates, known for producing wines of exceptional precision, site expression, and longevity.
