Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with purple reflections, reflecting its youth and concentration. The nose is often lifted and precise, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, violets, cracked pepper, and subtle smoky mineral notes. On the palate, it is usually medium-bodied and silky, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a core of dark fruit balanced by savory spice and stony tension. While already approachable in its youth, it has the structure and freshness to develop gracefully over the next 5 to 8 years, gaining complexity and more earthy, gamey nuances with age.

Made from Syrah grown in the granite and siliceous soils of Saint-Joseph, this cuvée reflects the cool, windy terroir that gives the wines their freshness and precision. The grapes are typically harvested by hand, with vinification focused on preserving purity of fruit and the varietal character of Syrah, often through temperature-controlled fermentation and careful extraction before maturation in oak or a combination of vessels to maintain balance and finesse.

Food & Serving
This Saint-Joseph pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roast duck, beef tenderloin, game birds, and dishes with herbs, olives, or peppery sauces. It also works well with mushroom-based dishes and mature semi-hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 30 to 60 minutes if opening young to allow the aromatics to unfold.
