Ridge Vineyards’ Grenache Blanc 2023 is a welcome new addition from one of California’s most respected names in wine. Sourced from selected Paso Robles sites and built around the Rhône-style blend of Grenache Blanc with Picpoul and a touch of Roussanne, it brings both freshness and depth in a style that feels distinctly Ridge: precise, balanced, and thoughtfully made.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a bright golden hue that immediately hints at ripeness and concentration. The nose is open and inviting, with aromas of tropical fruit lifted by a fresh, mineral edge. On the palate, it strikes a pleasing balance between generous, mature fruit and a clean, saline freshness that keeps everything vibrant. The 2023 vintage feels layered and energetic, with enough structure and complexity to make it enjoyable now while still suggesting good short- to medium-term aging potential.

Production
The grapes were harvested at full ripeness in October from selected vineyards in Paso Robles, an area known for California’s Rhône-inspired wines. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was pressed as whole clusters, and fermentation took place with native yeast to preserve site character and add complexity. The wine was then aged for 10 months in a combination of American oak, amphora, and stainless steel, a mix chosen to find the best possible balance between texture, freshness, and purity of fruit.

This Grenache Blanc is a natural match for dishes such as grilled fish, roast chicken, shellfish, creamy pasta, and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Serve it well chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and no decanting is necessary—just open and enjoy its freshness and aromatic lift.
