Reyneke, Organic Chenin Blanc 2025

Reyneke Organic Chenin Blanc 2025 is a bright, fruit-driven South African white that combines generous ripeness with a lively, refreshing edge. Made from old vines and crafted with biodynamic principles, it offers a pure expression of terroir and a modern, elegant take on Chenin Blanc.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a fresh, inviting profile with lifted fruit and a clean, polished finish. The nose brings ripe pear, yellow peach, mature lemon, Golden Delicious apple, and a hint of pineapple. The palate is juicy and rounded, with concentrated flavours of ripe orchard fruit balanced by crisp acidity and a subtle mineral streak. Thanks to its freshness and structure, it is enjoyable now and should hold its appeal well over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from Reyneke’s oldest vineyards, planted in 1974 and 1979, grown under biodynamic and organic farming practices. The sites lie up to 40 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean, where cooling maritime influence helps preserve freshness, while soils ranging from sand to decomposed granite contribute mineral nuance and a distinctive sense of place. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks, then the wine spends three months on its lees to gain extra texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
This Chenin Blanc is a natural match for grilled fish, roast chicken, shellfish, salads with stone fruit, and lightly spiced Asian dishes. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, but a little time in the glass will help the wine open up nicely.
