Régis et Sylvain’s 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh, characterful white that shows just how exciting the grape can be in the western Loire. Sourced from Pays Nantais, an area better known for Melon de Bourgogne, it stands out for its aromatic lift, vivid mineral edge and the kind of purity that makes it instantly appealing.

Tasting Notes
Pale and bright in the glass, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with a lively bouquet of gooseberry, lime zest, elderflower and a subtle green note reminiscent of tomato vine. The palate is crisp and energetic, with a pronounced mineral streak giving shape to the fruit and a clean, mouthwatering acidity that carries through to a refreshing finish. Thanks to its freshness and precise style, this is a wine to enjoy young, while its aromatic intensity and saline line are at their most expressive. It’s not built for long ageing, but it offers plenty of charm right now.

Production
The grapes come from very young, three-year-old vines in the western Loire, within Pays Nantais between the Sèvre and Maine rivers. This cool Atlantic-influenced setting helps preserve freshness and accentuate the grape’s natural aromatic profile. The fruit was cold-macerated for 12 hours before spending four months on lees, adding texture and subtle complexity without dulling the wine’s vibrant character.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight the wine’s mineral tension and citrus-driven freshness. It’s a natural match for seafood, especially grilled shrimp with aioli, oysters, shellfish or fish dishes finished with a squeeze of lemon. Decanting is not necessary.

In this case, that openness led them to an unusual Sauvignon Blanc site in Pays Nantais, where the grape’s performance was too compelling to ignore.
