Realm’s Beckstoffer To Kalon 2022 is a striking 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated vineyards, sourced from the legendary To Kalon site in Oakville. First planted in 1868 and long regarded as a benchmark for great Napa Cabernet, this vineyard has a near-mythic status among collectors thanks to its depth, precision, and consistently world-class quality.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the dark, concentrated profile you would expect from a top-tier Napa Cabernet, with layers of ripe black fruit and a polished, structured feel. The nose is intensely complex, opening with dark cherry, blueberry, liquorice, camphor, violets, and forest floor, while the palate unfolds with black cherry, blackberry, spice, dark chocolate, pine, crushed stone, and a lift of mint. This is a wine built for the long haul, and like many great To Kalon bottlings, it will reward patience beautifully. It is already impressive, but its full character will continue to emerge over the coming years, with the potential to age gracefully for a very long time.

Production
The fruit comes from Beckstoffer To Kalon, a historic Napa Valley vineyard known for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, now owned by Andy Beckstoffer, who has focused the site on uncompromising quality since 1993. Realm’s winemaker Benoit Touquette has crafted a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects both the power of the vineyard and the precision of a modern, high-calibre Napa approach.

Food & Serving
Best served with richly flavoured dishes such as ribeye steak, roasted lamb, short ribs, game, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if opening young, as it will help the wine reveal its layered aromatics and soften its structure.
