Description

Quintarelli Bianco Secco 2024 is the rare white from one of Veneto’s most revered estates, bringing the Quintarelli touch to a fresh, vibrant everyday-drinking style. This is a finely crafted field blend that marries local character with international polish, showing both energy and finesse in the glass. Despite its approachable profile, it carries the unmistakable depth and detail that have made the Quintarelli name legendary among Italian wine lovers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2024 Bianco Secco shines a pale straw yellow with subtle green reflections, signaling its youth and freshness. The nose is immediately inviting, with aromas of white flowers, lemon zest, green pear, and crisp apple, layered with hints of fresh herbs, wet stone, and a gentle, saline breeze. On the palate, it is precise and lively, offering a juicy core of citrus and orchard fruits—think lime, grapefruit, pear, and a touch of white peach—balanced by a mouthwatering acidity and a fine, mineral edge. Garganega and Trebbiano add textural softness and a faint almond note, while Chardonnay lends mid-palate weight and Sauvignon Blanc brings lift and aromatic brightness. The finish is clean, dry, and lightly savory, with a lingering impression of citrus rind and mineral. Intended to be enjoyed in its youth for maximum vibrancy, it will comfortably drink well over the next 3–5 years, gaining a bit more roundness and complexity with short-term cellaring.

Production
Sourced from estate and long-trusted partner vineyards in the hills of Veneto, the Bianco Secco 2024 reflects a classic Quintarelli approach to terroir: low yields, meticulous vineyard work, and a focus on ripeness with freshness. The vineyards sit on predominantly limestone and volcanic-derived soils, which contribute both aromatics and notable minerality to the blend. Grapes—Chardonnay, Garganega, Sauvignon Blanc, and Trebbiano—are harvested by hand, with rigorous selection in the vineyard to ensure only perfectly healthy, optimally ripe clusters make it to the cellar. Fermentation typically occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve the purity of fruit and aromatic lift, with extended contact on fine lees to add texture and complexity. The wine is then rested before bottling, allowing the components to harmonize without the overt influence of new oak, resulting in a balanced, terroir-driven white.

Food & Serving
Quintarelli Bianco Secco 2024 is a versatile food wine that shines with simple, ingredient-driven dishes. It pairs beautifully with seafood—think grilled prawns, steamed mussels, scallop crudo, or a classic fritto misto—as well as fresh goat cheeses, vegetable antipasti, and delicate pasta dishes with herbs, lemon, or light cream sauces. Venetian specialties such as baccalà mantecato or risotto with seasonal vegetables are particularly well suited. Serve well chilled but not icy, ideally at 8–10°C (46–50°F), to allow its aromatics and texture to fully express themselves. Decanting is not necessary, but opening the bottle 10–15 minutes before serving or letting it warm slightly in the glass will help reveal additional layers of fruit and minerality.

Producer
Giuseppe Quintarelli is a benchmark name in Italian wine, long regarded as the master of Valpolicella and a guardian of traditional winemaking in the Veneto. From a hillside estate in Negrar, in the heart of the region, the Quintarelli family has crafted some of Italy’s most sought-after and age-worthy wines for decades, adhering to exacting standards in both vineyard and cellar. While best known for monumental reds such as Amarone and Valpolicella, the estate’s small production of Bianco Secco has quietly built a devoted following for its precision and character. Today, the family continues Giuseppe’s legacy with the same uncompromising philosophy: artisanal, low-intervention winemaking, deep respect for terroir, and an unwavering pursuit of quality that has made Quintarelli a reference point not only in the Veneto, but in the wider world of fine wine.
