Description
Prunotto Barolo is a classic expression of Piedmont’s most celebrated red wine, made entirely from Nebbiolo and shaped by the tradition and precision that define the region. Elegant yet powerful, it offers the structure, depth, and complexity that have made Barolo one of Italy’s great fine wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the unmistakable garnet-red hue of Barolo, with brightness at the rim and a refined, translucent core. The bouquet is layered and expansive, unfolding with notes of violet, woodland undergrowth, and the earthy, aromatic complexity Nebbiolo is known for.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with a beautifully balanced profile that combines ripe fruit, firm tannins, and a long, graceful finish. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, gaining even more nuance and harmony with a few years in bottle.
Production
Crafted in Piedmont from 100% Nebbiolo, Prunotto Barolo reflects the region’s limestone-rich hills and cool-climate conditions, which help preserve freshness and aromatic lift while allowing the grape’s tannic backbone to fully develop. The grapes are harvested with care at optimal ripeness, and vinification is carried out to preserve both varietal character and the fine structure needed for long maturation.
Food & Serving
This Barolo is a natural partner for rich dishes such as braised meats, roast beef, game, truffle-based pasta, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least one hour to allow the aromas and textures to खुलly unfold.
