Principe Pallavicini Bourgogne Blanc Oncle Vincent 2020 is an expressive and complex Chardonnay from carefully selected parcels near Puligny-Montrachet, capturing the elegance and mineral precision for which this part of Burgundy is so admired. Named as a tribute to Vincent Leflaive, a key figure in the rise of Domaine Leflaive, it reflects both a rich family legacy and a distinctly Puligny-like character.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, refined appearance in the glass, with a classic Burgundy profile that feels both poised and layered. On the nose, it opens with white peach, butter, yellow flowers, wet stone, and citrus peel, delivering a beautifully measured balance between freshness and subtle richness. The palate is lively and fruit-driven, with vibrant acidity supporting a core of pale stone fruit and a striking mineral edge. Gentle notes of butter and toast add depth without overwhelming the wine’s purity, and while it is already highly expressive, it should continue to gain nuance over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from eight selected parcels near Puligny-Montrachet, planted on limestone-rich clay soils at 230–250 meters above sea level. Vines are cultivated according to sustainable principles, and the harvest is carried out entirely by hand to ensure only healthy, ripe fruit reaches the winery. Upon arrival, the grapes are carefully sorted before vinification. The wine matures for 12 months in total, including 9 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which are new, followed by additional time in stainless steel to preserve freshness and precision.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for fine fish dishes and delicate poultry, especially preparations with creamy sauces or subtle richness. It would be superb with steamed turbot in white wine sauce or guinea fowl served with silky cauliflower purée. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary unless you want to encourage a little extra aromatic opening.
