Planeta Cometa is one of Sicily’s most distinctive white wines, showing how beautifully Fiano can express the island’s warm light, mineral soils, and coastal freshness. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep straw-yellow color with clear green highlights, hinting at both ripeness and freshness. The bouquet is delicately layered, with chamomile, hay, mango, and pomelo, lifted by broom flowers and a subtle herbal thread of thyme. On the palate, the wine is mineral-driven, lively, and mouthwatering, with a fresh, thirst-quenching energy. The finish is silky and refined, leaving notes of ripe apricot, almond blossom, and basil leaves. It has the structure to develop gracefully for a few years, gaining added complexity and softness with bottle age.

Production
Produced in Sicily by Planeta from organically grown Fiano, Cometa is a wine shaped by the island’s distinctive terroir, where sun, sea breezes, and mineral-rich soils help preserve fragrance and freshness. Careful vineyard selection and expert vinification are central to the wine’s character, allowing the varietal expression of Fiano to come through with purity, texture, and balance.

Food & Serving
Cometa pairs beautifully with grilled fish, shellfish, seafood pasta, risotto with herbs, and Mediterranean vegetable dishes. It is best served chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a short aeration can help the aromatics open up in a younger bottle.
