Flor de Pingus 2014 is one of Ribera del Duero’s most sought-after expressions, combining power, finesse, and exceptional aromatic precision. Crafted from Tempranillo by the renowned Pingus project, it reflects the region’s ability to produce deeply characterful reds with both concentration and elegance.

Tasting Notes
Deep violet in the glass, this wine opens with a highly perfumed bouquet of dark berries and cherries, lifted by notes of smoke and spice. On the palate, lively flavors of bitter cherry, blueberry, and violet pastille are framed by a finely defined structure and a supporting line of bright acidity. The finish is long, precise, and strikingly fresh, gradually broadening to reveal gentle, chewy tannins and a persistent floral quality. While already expressive, it has the depth and balance to develop beautifully with further bottle age.

Production
Flor de Pingus comes from Ribera del Duero, where old-vine Tempranillo thrives in a continental climate marked by hot summers, cool nights, and low rainfall. The region’s elevation and varied soils help preserve freshness while contributing to the wine’s concentration and aromatic lift. Harvesting is done with careful selection to ensure only the best fruit is used, followed by meticulous vinification aimed at preserving purity, structure, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for roasted lamb, grilled ribeye, venison, or richly flavored dishes such as wild mushroom risotto and braised short ribs. Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if opened young, to allow the wine to fully reveal its aromatic complexity and texture.

Pingus is the celebrated project of Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck, who helped put Ribera del Duero on the global fine-wine map. Since its rise to prominence in the 1990s, the estate has become known for producing wines of remarkable intensity, precision, and scarcity. Flor de Pingus is often regarded as one of the region’s benchmark wines and a standout example of modern Spanish winemaking.
