Sourced from Bricco Mondino in Balluri, Neive, it is the first wine to be released from the cellar and is especially appealing for those discovering Barbaresco for the first time.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright, translucent garnet color that reflects its Nebbiolo purity and youthful charm. The nose is expressive and precise, with red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and subtle earthy notes, while the palate is fresh, refined, and beautifully balanced by delicate tannins. Compared with more structured Barbarescos, Mondino is the most open and approachable expression, emphasizing elegance and fruit over power. It should drink well in its youth, yet it can also develop additional nuance over the next several years as its floral and savory notes deepen.

Production
The grapes come from Bricco Mondino in Balluri, in the commune of Neive, one of the classic areas for Barbaresco in Piedmont. The vineyard’s hillside position and local terroir help shape a wine with finesse, aromatic lift, and naturally polished tannins, with careful harvesting and vinification aimed at preserving the freshness and delicate character of Nebbiolo.

Food & Serving
This Barbaresco pairs beautifully with risotto with porcini, tajarin with truffle, roast poultry, braised veal, and mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic detail.
