In the glass, it shows a subtle violet-purple hue, hinting at its youth and freshness. The nose is beautifully typical of Nuits-Saint-Georges, with notes of rose petals and licorice layered over a fruit profile of cherry, strawberry, and blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine balances red- and darker-berry fruit with earthy nuance and a firm, Burgundy-appropriate structure. This wine is composed from several parcels in Nuits-Saint-Georges, with around 80% coming from Les Pierres Virants, complemented by fruit from En Seuvrey, Les Cognées, and Les Porroux. The result is a blended village wine that reflects the commune’s layered terroir and its tendency toward wines with more depth and intensity than many neighboring Burgundy villages.
