Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco Meruzzano is a refined expression of Nebbiolo from one of Piedmont’s most celebrated appellations. Sourced from the Meruzzano vineyard in Treiso, it combines the hallmark elegance and structure of Barbaresco with the depth and finesse that have made this region world-famous.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic translucent ruby-garnet hue typical of Nebbiolo, with bright intensity and graceful development. The nose is layered and inviting, with notes of red cherry, rose petal, wild berries, licorice, spice, and subtle oak nuance from élevage in French barriques. On the palate, it is dry, structured, and beautifully focused, with lively acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a long, savory finish. The oak is integrated rather than dominant, supporting the wine’s mineral core and floral red-fruit profile. While approachable with time in bottle, it also has the backbone to age gracefully over the next several years.

Production
This Barbaresco comes from the Meruzzano vineyard in Treiso, an area known for producing wines with elegance, aromatic precision, and firm but polished tannins. The Nebbiolo grapes are vinified with careful extraction to preserve the variety’s perfume and structure, then aged for 10–15 months in French oak barrels, around 20% of which are new, followed by 4–6 months of bottle maturation before release.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C and, if possible, decant for 1–2 hours to allow the aromas to खुल bloom and the tannins to soften. It pairs beautifully with roasted game, braised beef, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses, making it an excellent choice for rich Northern Italian cuisine.
