Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a medium ruby colour with a darker rim. The nose leans more earthy than fruity, opening with brioche, forest floor, black fig, pomegranate, and red berries. On the palate, it is layered and concentrated, with flavours of raspberry jam, blueberry, and strawberry lifted by fresh acidity and framed by an elegant touch of smoky oak. The overall impression is sophisticated and complex, with the earthy side of Pinot Noir taking centre stage rather than pure fruit. Its structure and balance suggest good drinking now, while it should also hold nicely over the next several years as the savoury nuances continue to develop.

Production
The grapes come from Sleepy Hollow Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills, a cool coastal site in Santa Barbara County where fog and ocean breezes help preserve acidity and encourage aromatic intensity. These conditions are particularly well suited to Pinot Noir, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly while maintaining freshness and detail. Vinification focuses on capturing the vineyard’s character and the wine’s layered, terroir-driven style.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent food wine, especially with dishes that bring out its earthy and savoury depth. Try it with mushroom risotto, duck breast, veal, roasted chicken, or umami-rich dishes such as grilled salmon with soy glaze or truffled pasta. Serve slightly chilled at around 16–18°C, and decant briefly if possible to let the aromatics open fully.
