Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine shows an intense deep purple color. The nose opens with aromas of roasted bell pepper, coffee, and mulberry, giving way to a layered and inviting profile. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and red fruit. The finish is supported by firm yet elegant tannins, suggesting good structure and the potential to develop further with short- to medium-term cellaring.

Production
The grapes come from the wide, sunlit landscape of the Northern Cape, an area known as the Green Kalahari and sourced from Orange River Cellars’ network of 580 experienced grape growers. Founded on 23 December 1965, the producer has long played an important role in the South African wine industry, working with pristine fruit from one of the country’s most distinctive wine regions. This Cabernet Franc pairs well with roasted pork, beef burgers, beef stew, meatballs in tomato sauce, roast duck, game, roasted or grilled lamb, and a variety of cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if you want to soften the tannins and allow the aromas to open up.
