Negro Angelo e Figli Roero Arneis Serra Lupini 2024 is a vivid expression of one of Piedmont’s most important native white grapes, coming from a prized single vineyard in the Roero hills. The Negro family helped rescue Arneis from near extinction in the late 20th century, and their long-standing commitment to the variety has made them one of the reference names for the region.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright golden-yellow colour that immediately hints at richness and character. The nose is fragrant and layered, with floral notes of elderflower and acacia joined by vineyard peach, ripe pear, mint and a subtle citrus-zest freshness. On the palate, the wine is lively and precise, with vibrant acidity, notable mineral depth and a clean, mouth-watering finish. The balance of fruit, flowers and savoury freshness gives it real charm now, while its structure and intensity suggest it can develop gracefully over the short to medium term.

Production
The Serra Lupini vineyard is a south-facing single site in the Roero, planted on the area’s classic calcareous-sandy soils at elevations reaching around 320 metres. These conditions help Arneis retain freshness while gaining aromatic depth and texture. The grapes are harvested carefully and vinified to preserve purity, fragrance and the mineral-driven character of the site.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine, especially good with antipasti, seafood, shellfish, freshwater fish, risotto, vegetable dishes and mild cheeses. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and no decanting is necessary.
