Description

Nani Rizzi Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Gran Cuvèe ERGI Extra Dry DOCG is a refined, ultra-dry sparkling wine from the very heart of Italy’s premium Prosecco zone. Crafted with just 1.6 g/l of residual sugar, it’s ideal for those who love a crisp, bone-dry style without sacrificing elegance or flavor. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Valdobbiadene and made under the strict DOCG Prosecco Superiore regulations, this cuvée showcases the purity and precision that have made the region world-famous.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Prosecco shows a pale straw-yellow color with a fine, persistent mousse that forms a delicate crown. The nose is subtle yet complex, revealing ripe orchard fruit, hints of pear and apple, a touch of citrus zest and gentle floral notes. On the palate, the Gran Cuvèe ERGI is strikingly dry, with the very low residual sugar emphasizing its clean, linear profile. Flavors of white peach, green apple and lemon peel are framed by vibrant acidity and a refined, creamy perlage. Despite the Extra Dry designation, it feels closer to a Brut in style, leaving the mouth feeling beautifully clean and refreshed, making it particularly enjoyable at the end of a meal. Best enjoyed within a few years of release to appreciate its freshness, but it will hold well for short-term cellaring.

Production
This cuvée is a blend of 90% Glera and 10% Pedera from a single estate vineyard in Podere Pareda, situated around 300 meters above sea level in the hills of Valdobbiadene. The elevated position and hillside exposure provide excellent drainage and a cooler microclimate, contributing to aromatic intensity and crisp acidity. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the healthiest clusters are selected, then gently vinified with a brief cold maceration to extract delicate aromas while preserving freshness. Secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat (tank) method in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, where selected yeasts and sugar are added to create the natural carbonation. Once the fine bubbles and house style are achieved, the wine is bottled under pressure with the addition of a carefully calibrated liqueur d’expédition.

Food & Serving
This ultra-dry Prosecco is particularly well-suited as a refined end to a meal, pairing beautifully with fresh fruit tarts, lemon desserts, almond biscuits or a simple plate of seasonal fruit and soft, mild cheeses. It also works well with light seafood starters such as shrimp cocktails, carpaccio of white fish or delicate sushi. Serve well-chilled at 6–8°C (43–46°F) to highlight its brightness and fine mousse. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour gently into tulip-shaped sparkling wine glasses to capture both the aromas and the persistent bubbles.
