Description
Nani Rizzi Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Brut DOCG is a refined expression of top-tier Prosecco from the steep hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Made entirely from Glera and crafted via the Charmat method, it delivers vibrant bubbles, pristine fruit and a wonderfully precise, dry finish. Carrying the prestigious DOCG designation and the “Prosecco Superiore” title, this non-vintage cuvée showcases both the quality of its terroir and the meticulous standards behind its production.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Prosecco Superiore shows a bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a fine, persistent bead of bubbles and a lively mousse. The nose is immediately inviting, with pure, fresh aromas of ripe yellow apple and juicy golden peach, lifted by delicate floral notes of acacia blossom and hints of rose petals.
On the palate it is crisp, clean and refreshing, with a dry Brut profile that keeps the fruit beautifully focused. The flavours echo the nose, offering orchard fruit, stone fruit and subtle citrus, supported by a well-balanced acidity and a silky, creamy texture from the fine perlage. The finish is elegant and pleasantly lingering, with a gentle floral touch. As a non-vintage Prosecco designed for freshness, it is best enjoyed within 1–2 years of purchase to capture its most vibrant and aromatic character.
Production
The Glera grapes for Nani Rizzi Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Brut DOCG are sourced from the hilly, well-exposed vineyards of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area, where poor, well-drained soils and significant day–night temperature swings help preserve acidity and aromatic intensity. Grapes are harvested with careful selection to ensure optimal ripeness and balance. After a gentle pressing, the base wine is fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to protect its delicate aromatics. The secondary fermentation takes place in pressurised stainless-steel tanks (Charmat method), where selected yeasts and sugar are added to create the natural bubbles; the wine remains protected from oxygen throughout. Once the desired pressure and style are achieved, a carefully measured liqueur d’expédition is added before the wine is filtered and bottled under pressure, preserving its freshness and fine mousse.
Food & Serving
This Prosecco Superiore is a classic aperitif, ideal on its own or alongside light canapés, bruschetta and delicate antipasti. It pairs beautifully with seafood starters such as shrimp, scallops, ceviche, sushi and carpaccio of white fish, as well as simple dishes like grilled vegetables, fresh salads and mild soft cheeses. Serve well chilled at around 6–8°C. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour gently into tulip-shaped sparkling wine glasses to best appreciate its aromas and fine bubbles.
