Nabal Bodegas & Viñedos Ribera del Duero Crianza 2018 is a bold, expressive Tempranillo that captures the classic power and precision of Ribera del Duero. Built from fruit sourced in some of the region’s coolest sites and aged in new oak, it combines dark-fruited depth with a свеж freshness and polished structure that make it especially compelling.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful ruby-red colour with impressive concentration. The nose is layered and inviting, offering black cherry, red plum and dark berry fruit, along with dried tea leaves, liquorice, roasted coffee beans and sweet spice. The palate is deep and creamy, yet stays refined thanks to a firm but silky tannin profile. Flavours of ripe forest berries, blood orange and plum are complemented by cocoa, balsamic notes, smoked paprika and vanilla. The finish is long, balanced and elegant, suggesting excellent ageing potential over the next several years.

Production
Made from 100% Tempranillo, this wine comes from 50–80-year-old bush vines planted in selected vineyards in the cooler areas of Burgos, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. The soils are mainly clay and limestone, contributing both structure and freshness. Harvest is done by hand in late September, with the grapes transported in small 15 kg boxes to protect quality. In the cellar, the clusters are carefully sorted and de-stemmed, then undergo a cold maceration before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with regular punch-downs. The wine is aged for 14–16 months in 100% new oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal match for grilled lamb chops, slow-braised red meat dishes, roasted game or hearty stews. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour to let the oak, spice and dark fruit fully open up.
