Subtle spicy nuances and a hint of cedar complete the aromatic picture. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and generously fruited, with a core of plush dark berries wrapped in finely ground, powdery tannins. Sourced from selected parcels within the Mouton Rothschild estate in Pauillac, Le Petit Mouton 2022 reflects a classic Left Bank terroir of deep gravel over limestone and clay, which naturally favors Cabernet Sauvignon and lends the wine its structure and minerality. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, with meticulous sorting to ensure only the finest fruit makes it into the blend. Vinification follows the exacting standards of the grand vin: fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, careful extraction to balance power and finesse, and aging in French oak barriques (a significant proportion new), where the wine gains complexity, tannin polish and subtle notes of spice and toast.

Le Petit Mouton 2022 is a natural match for classic Bordeaux fare: roasted or grilled lamb, dry-aged ribeye, venison, or beef short ribs will all highlight the wine’s structure and dark-fruit complexity. It also pairs beautifully with duck breast, game birds, mushroom dishes, and hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Gouda. Serve at 16–18°C (60–64°F) to show its full aromatic range.
