Moulin de la Gardette’s Gigondas Ventabren 2019 is a powerful, classically styled Southern Rhône red that captures the intensity and character of the appellation at its best. Made from old vines aged 80 to 100 years, it delivers remarkable concentration, depth, and a true sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color. The nose is expressive and layered, with dark berries, warm spices, and a subtle garrigue note that brings a distinctly Mediterranean edge. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, warm, and well structured, with ripe tannins and impressive length. The fruit is rich but remains fresh and balanced, giving the wine both immediate appeal and the ability to develop further with a few years in cellar.

Production
This Gigondas comes from old-vine Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, harvested by hand from mature vineyards in the Ventabren area of Gigondas. The grapes are partially destemmed and vinified traditionally in cement tanks with a long maceration to build structure and aromatic depth, then aged for 18 months in large foudres to soften the tannins while preserving the purity of the fruit.

Food & Serving
An ideal match for lamb, game, grilled meats, and rich slow-cooked dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to let the aromas open and the structure fully come forward.
